Guided Tours, Planetarium Show, and Activity Classes

Museum tours may be reserved for Scout troops during the weekday. Guided tours on the weekend are subject to tour guide availability. Groups may attend a planetarium show on weekdays or weekends. Activity classes are available weekdays, Tuesday - Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm.

Boy Scout Merit Badge

Several Boy Scout badge programs are available and include:

Astronomy Merit Badge

Taught by aerospace instructors and volunteers of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium, scouts rotate through a variety of educational workshops. The course meets the requirements for the Boy Scouts of America Astronomy Merit Badge and includes:

  • Time on a flight simulator
  • Tour of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum
  • Planetarium Show
  • Lunch

Classes are held on a Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm or special arrangements.

Classes must have at least 10 scouts.

Reservations are required. Please have a couple of dates in mind when making reservations.

One person should submit payment at the time of your visit.

Scouts Should Bring

  • Astronomy Merit Badge Booklet. Please read it and complete Requirement 5 before the class. An optional form to use is available here.
  • The application for merit badge, BSA No. 34124 (blue form) signed by the unit leader.
  • Notebook, pencil/pen.

 

Aviation Merit Badge

Taught by aerospace instructors and volunteers of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium, scouts rotate through a variety of educational workshops. The course meets the requirements for the Boy Scouts of America Aviation Merit Badge and includes:

Please wear your BSA uniform.

Cub Scout Belt Loop

Science Belt Loop, Astronomy Belt Loop, and Weather Belt Loop are offered. Scouts meet all of the requirements for the Belt Loop. Program is two hours in length and reservations are required.

Academic Pin also available. Must have completed Belt Loop or complete Belt Loop and Pin requirements to obtain the Academic Pin.

A minimum group size of ten participants is required to receive discounted rates. One chaperone per 10 Scouts is required. One person must submit payment at the time of your visit. Membership admission and coupons are not valid with the group programs. Admission rates and programs are subject to change at any time.
